Payment and Price Transparency Policy

This document clearly and transparently establishes the Payment Policy of Authentic Puriq Tours, in strict compliance with Peruvian regulations applicable to the tourism sector and e-commerce best practices. Our primary objective is to ensure reliability, transaction security, and total clarity in the pricing structure for our travelers. This commitment guarantees adherence to Law N° 29571 (Code of Consumer Protection and Defense) and other specific tourism regulations in the Cusco region.

1. Payment Structure and Reservation

To ensure the availability and immediate confirmation of services (especially Machu Picchu entrances and hiking permits), Authentic Puriq Tours requires an initial deposit payment. The remaining balance must be covered according to the established deadlines, facilitating logistical and administrative management, in adherence to Peruvian fiscal and contractual regulations.

  • Reservation Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 30% to 50% of the total tour or trek value is required, depending on the complexity and advance requirements (such as Inca Trail permits). This payment ensures the issuance of official tickets and the reservation of essential services.
  • Remaining Balance Payment: The outstanding balance must be paid in full no later than 48 hours before the start of the tour or trek, as specified in the reservation invoice. Failure to meet this deadline may result in the cancellation of the service, applying the conditions of the Cancellation Policy.
  • Last Minute Reservations: For reservations made with less than 72 hours’ notice, payment of 100% of the total cost is required to guarantee the immediate management of ticket availability and logistics.

2. Accepted Payment Methods

Authentic Puriq Tours offers various secure and reliable payment methods, adapted for national and international travelers, guaranteeing compliance with security standards (PCI DSS where applicable) and minimizing fraud risk.

  • Credit/Debit Cards (Online): We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Diners Club through secure Peruvian payment platforms (such as Niubiz or PagoEfectivo). These are subject to bank or gateway commissions, which are clearly informed to the traveler.
  • International Bank Transfer (SWIFT/ACH): Accepted for large groups or advance payments. The client assumes the costs of international transfers (issuing bank and intermediary commissions).
  • Cash Payment (US Dollars or Peruvian Soles): This method is exclusively for the payment of the remaining balance and must be made at our offices in Cusco, under administrative supervision and with the issuance of the regulatory payment receipt.

3. Price Transparency and Additional Charges

Authentic Puriq Tours is committed to a policy of final and transparent prices. The quoted price includes all taxes (IGV where applicable) and basic operational charges, eliminating surprises in the payment process.

  • Transaction Commissions: The client is informed that payments made with credit/debit cards or online platforms are subject to an administrative and bank commission (typically between 3% and 7% of the total amount), which is charged by the payment gateway and must be assumed by the client. This charge is broken down in the final quote.
  • Currency Exchange (Exchange Rate): All quotes are made in US Dollars (USD). Payments made in Peruvian Soles (PEN) will be subject to the selling exchange rate in force established by Authentic Puriq Tours or the financial entity on the day of the transaction.
  • Prices Do Not Include: The reservation price does not include voluntary tips, travel insurance (highly recommended), visa costs, or personal expenses incurred during the tour, unless otherwise specified in the detailed itinerary description.

4. Transaction Security and Data Protection

Authentic Puriq Tours protects its clients’ financial information using cutting-edge security protocols, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law of Peru (Law N° 29733), ensuring that sensitive card data is not stored on our servers.

  • SSL Security and Encryption: All online transactions are processed through a secure SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection, ensuring that client information travels encrypted from their browser to the certified payment gateway.
  • Personal Data Protection: Contact information and passport details are collected solely for the purpose of issuing official tickets (train, Machu Picchu) and are protected under our Privacy Policy.
